It’s hard to believe that our summer is coming to a close. We’ve been eager to share more about the churches that join us on mission, and next on our list is the incoming team from Tupelo, Mississippi!
The team did a phenomenal job helping immigrants at the Val Verde Border Coalition, along with painting classes, some light construction, and a cookout for border patrol. This team served a record number of immigrants at the coalition, and they were barely even phased by it! This team also went over to Mexico to serve at the Noblasi Education Center. They sent a group to offer support on-site during an intensive week of classes. In the evenings and tutored them in their math and reading, and the students were so encouraged. It lifted their spirits as they felt cared for and loved by this group, even after a long summer day. Here is what the Tupelo team had to say about their experience with us:
“Still in awe of what God did in us and through us last week! Our students and leaders were incredible and we are always so blessed to see Shon Young & Janeene Young, and we even made some new friends! Please continue to pray for the Youngs, the leader of the coalition Tiffany, the border control agents, the immigrants, the students and church leaders in Acuna, and all those in Del Rio that we worked with! Our God is so good!”
“WOW! Where do I even start?? This past week in Del Rio/Acuña was amazing!! It was such a blessing to serve alongside this group of kids and adults!! Our God is really working here!!”
“So thankful for a week serving alongside some awesome teens and adults from Connect Church Tupelo! God revealed Himself in so many ways through this trip! It was great to see friends again from last year, we hope to see you again soon Del Rio!”
We want to give a shout-out to this group and say thanks to Connect Church Tupelo for sending this team to help us as we seek to continue impacting generations for Christ.
