Shon and Janeene Young
Since our calling into full-time ministry in late 2012 and sending out from Crossroads Youth Works and Liberty Plains Church in Simla, Colorado God has continued to show Himself in mighty ways in our ministry in Mexico and Texas. We have developed partnerships with upwards of ten churches in Acuna, five churches in Del Rio, and more than 50 churches throughout the state of Texas and beyond. These partnerships have led to many new relationships with Christ as well as rededications and commitments to serve. With your continued prayers and support these ministries and partnerships will grow stronger and have a wider reach.
Janeene continues to share her love of discipling, mentoring and loving the children and women of Del Rio and Mexico. She directs the City Center located in the heart of an older San Felipe neighborhood in Del Rio where children ages K-6 continue to come to learn and be fed physically and spiritually. She continues to hold my arms up when I can’t (like Aaron and Hur did for Moses in Exodus 17:12). She is my ministry partner and I wouldn’t be able to accomplish what I’m able to do without her gifting’s that compliment mine. I thank God for her everyday.
With joy I am currently serving as the Associate Pastor of Missions and Youth at City Church Del Rio where I’ve been since its inception in 2015. Beginning in 2016, I’ve also been serving as a River Ministry Missionary for Texas Baptists. We both work closely in serving our community of Del Rio and Ciudad Acuna through facilitating and hosting mission teams throughout the year.
